Vans | Curren Caples Shoe Campaign

ROLE – ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Vans pro skater Curren Caples is known for his polished, camera ready looks and often labeled the “pretty boy” in the usual skate narrative. Rather than pushing against this perception, Curren chose to lean all the way in.

For the launch of his first signature pro model, he asked us to create a cologne inspired spoof campaign. A self‑aware, high‑gloss take that turns his reputation into the punchline. By blending elevated imagery with skate credibility, we built a world that felt premium, irreverent, and authentic to skate culture, capped by a lavish launch moment that spoke to both skaters and the broader cultural conversation.

LAUNCH EVENT

Not your average skate function. Caviar. Fine wine. An orchestra. A chandelier hanging from a crane. And a skate obstacle. A full‑tilt collision of luxury and skate chaos, exactly where it shouldn’t be, and exactly where it belonged.
